The Planets
Condensed version of Holst's classic

Ottorini Respighi, arranged by Matt Kingston
Respighi's rather wonderful depiction of a Roman legion marching along the Appian Way in the brilliance of the newly-risen sun.
A glorious four-minute crescendo, Respighi wanted the ground to tremble as his imaginary army advance.
In this arrangement, the band's cornets mimic the calls of the ancient Roman Buccina, and early form of trumpet.
